New Target System ESB-2 Enhances Sustainability and Efficiency
New Kurvinen ESB-2 Target System Praised at Skidskyttekampen in Stockholm
The Kurvinen ESB-2 Biathlon Target System provides extensive information about precise shot location for both coaches and live TV audiences, enabling more efficient training and even more exciting racing for millions of biathlon fans around the world.
The target system also enables nearly 100% lead collection due to its shoot-through design combined with Kurvinen lead collectors.
The ESB-2 target system was used in live race shooting by world-leading biathlon athletes at the Skidskyttekampen 2025 event, where teams from nine elite biathlon countries gathered to compete in individual and relay disciplines.
After the event, the shooting range remained exceptionally clean, thanks to an advanced lead recovery process. The shoot-through target, combined with a lead collector, practically removes lead spills around biathlon ranges. Additionally, these features reduce the need for repainting and mark a significant step toward a lead-free future.
The system also enables direct recording of results and sighting data onto multiple devices both near and far, offering a new level of in-race tracking. With digitalization, shooting results and tracking are now more precise and seamless than ever before.
A Sustainable Future of Biathlon
The introduction of the Kurvinen ESB-2 target system underscores a commitment to sustainability: less lead, less manual work, and fewer resource demands – while providing more data and more accurate results.
This innovation in biathlon target systems paves the way for an environmentally friendly future in biathlon without compromising performance.
